-1,83%29.01.2026.Representatives of the Belgrade Stock Exchange Participated in the Conference “The Role of Lawyers in the Development of Financial Markets”
Organized by ELSA Belgrade and the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, the conference “The Role of Lawyers in the Development of Financial Markets” was held on January 16, 2026. In addition to representatives of the Belgrade Stock Exchange, the conference was also attended by representatives of the Securities Commission, as well as professors of the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade.
On that occasion, the participants provided a brief overview of the historical development of the capital market in the Republic of Serbia, as well as the development of the Belgrade Stock Exchange, highlighting the importance of improving financial literacy and continuous education in the field of capital markets. During the discussion, particular emphasis was placed on the role of the legal profession in ensuring legal certainty, protecting investors’ interests, and creating conditions for the further development of financial markets in the Republic of Serbia.
In his presentation, Vuk Petrović, a representative of the Belgrade Stock Exchange from the legal sector, spoke about the role and importance of lawyers in the operations of the Belgrade Stock Exchange, the legal position of the market organizer in the Republic of Serbia, as well as activities related to the transition to the OASIS trading system of the Athens Stock Exchange.
The Belgrade Stock Exchange expresses its gratitude to the organizers for the invitation and the opportunity to contribute, through discussions with students, to the education of future lawyers and to encourage interest in the field of financial markets.
