As of Monday, 15. June 2009, Sinteza Invest Group a.d Beograd will start to conduct market making operations for shares of the issuer Veterinarski zavod a.d. Subotica (VZAS).
The broker-dealer company Sinteza Invest Group a.d. Beograd has been a member of the Belgrade Stock Exchange since 22.02.2003. In 2008, this broker-dealer company had the largest participation in the share turnover of 17.12% (without block transactions and MP), while in the number of transactions they accounted for 3.24%.
Veterinarski zavod a.d. Subotica was founded in 1921, and has a long tradition in producing animal food, hemo-pharmaceutical, biological and ddd products, as well as plant protection products. The shares of the issuer Veterinarski zavod a.d. Subotica have been traded on the unregulated market of the Belgrade Stock Exchange since 22.02.2005, and since 01.04.2009 they are a constituent part of the index basket of the leading Exchange index – BELEX15. On 09.06.2009 this issuer s shares recorded the price of 462 dinars, a rise of 11.06% in comparison to the end of 2008.
Sinteza Invest Group a.d. Beograd will be the second broker-dealer company to obtain the status of a market maker on the Belgrade Stock Exchange. It is expected that market making operations, which involve simultaneous and continuous placement of buy and sell orders, will significantly increase the liquidity of shares of the issuer Veterinarski zavod a.d. Subotica. Positive effects of market making are already visible in the case of shares of the issuer Tigar a.d. Pirot (TIGR), the first shares to have got its market maker in December 2008. If the turnover and the number of transactions in the first five months of 2009 are compared with the same period last year, it can be said that Tigar s shares, in spite of the general fall in liquidity measured by the fall in the turnover and number of transactions, increased its participation in the total turnover and number of transactions.
